The name of the concert venue at Chastain Park just got longer.
The 7,000-capacity outdoor music hub – formerly the Chastain Park Amphitheatre - will now be known as State Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park, in conjunction with Georgia-based State Bank & Trust Company.
The bank, which operates in seven states, has signed a multi-year title sponsorship with Live Nation, which manages the venue.
It’s the first time Chastain has paired with a naming-rights sponsor. The Buckhead-area venue opened in 1944 as the North Fulton Park Amphitheater and for decades has hosted concerts in a unique environment that allows patrons to bring in food and sit either at tables or in typical amphitheater seats.
The building is in the final stages of a $5 million renovation , which includes new concessions, restroom facilities, a new courtyard and a heightened stage.
This year's season will launch slightly later than usual with the double bill of John Fogerty and ZZ Top on June 6. Other acts scheduled to play the venue in 2018 include Harry Connick Jr., Robert Plant, 3 Doors Down and Collective Soul, Indigo Girls and Trombone Shorty.
