2 Chainz is getting into the record label business.

The Atlanta rapper has created The Real University (aka The Real U, aka T.R.U.), which he plans to use as a platform for rising talent.

A compilation mixtape called "TRU Jack City" will arrive Jan. 27 via LiveMixtapes.com to introduce T.R.U. artists Cap 1, Skooly, Fresh (aka Short Dawg), Young Dolph and Bankroll Fresh. The project also includes appearances from 2 Chainz, including the Young Dolph and Cap 1 track, "Traphouse Stalkin'" (listen to it here).

On upcoming Tuesdays in January, new content from the upstart label will be released at 2 p.m. Followers of 2 Chainz on Twitter (@2Chainz) will get a heads-up when new music has been posted.

2 Chainz, who has sold nearly a million copies of his "Based on a T.R.U. Story" and "B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time" albums, has remained a steady chart presence with the platinum-plus rap hits "Mercy," "Birthday Song," "I'm Different" and "We Own It (Fast & Furious)." The College Park native was one of several hometown guests during Outkast's Atlanta concerts last fall.

2 Chainz is currently working on a third studio album.
