FRIDAY
Phish
It wouldn’t feel like summer without a multiple-night stand by the veteran jam banders. They’ll commandeer the Alpharetta amphitheater for three nights as part of their 21-show trek around the country. The band already has a 14-date fall tour on tap, but the closest they’ll return is Nashville on Oct. 23-24.
7:30 p.m. Aug. 3-5. $45-$80. Verizon Amphitheatre at Encore Park, 2200 Encore Parkway, Alpharetta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.
SATURDAY
Mary Chapin Carpenter
The endearing folkie has studiously released a trove of Americana classics for 30 years and, even though she hasn’t again achieved the mainstream success that met 1992’s “Come On, Come On,” Carpenter’s skills as a visceral writer haven’t diminished. She recently released “Sometimes Just the Sky,” which, along with the new title track, includes one rearranged song from each of her previous 12 albums. And yes, the brilliant “This Shirt” made the cut.
With Luther Dickinson and Sharde Thomas. 8 p.m. Aug. 4. $59.50 (members $57.50). Atlanta Botanical Garden, 1345 Piedmont Ave. NE, Atlanta. 404-876-5859, atlantabg.org.
SUNDAY
Lost ‘80s Live
The tour spotlighting names from the multicolor-hair-and-gaudy-eye-shadow era launched 14 years ago and is still succeeding as a nostalgia trip. The year’s lineup is: A Flock of Seagulls (“I Ran,” or the far superior “Space Age Love Song”); Naked Eyes (“Always Something There to Remind Me,” or the far superior “Promises, Promises”); Wang Chung (“Everybody Have Fun Tonight,” or the far superior “Dance Hall Days”); Berlin (“Take My Breath Away,” or the far superior “No More Words”); Animotion (“Obsession,” or the far superior “Room to Move”); Nu Shooz (“I Can’t Wait,” or the far superior “Point of No Return”); and Farrington and Mann, members of When in Rome UK (“The Promise,” or … well, you got me there).
7:30 p.m. Aug. 5. $15-$99.50. State Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park, 4469 Stella Drive NW, Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.
TUESDAY
Jeremih
The rapper-singer-producer is hitting the road with Teyana Taylor for a 24-city tour that will spotlight the pair’s new projects. Jeremih has a joint effort with Ty Dolla Sign, “MihTy,” and earlier this year dropped the four-track EP, “The Chocolate Box.” Meanwhile, Taylor released her sophomore album, “K.T.S.E.,” which stands for Keep That Same Energy, in June.
With DaniLeigh. 8 p.m. Aug. 7. $40. Center Stage, 1374 W. Peachtree St., Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.
