Class AAAAAA has more major Division I prospects than any other class, which is no surprise. But perhaps it is surprising just how many. Of 247Sports' top 100 players in Georgia, 33 of them will play in the highest classification this season.
But make sure you take a good look at them this season because almost all of them will be heading out of state to play in college. North Cobb QB Tyler Queen and Mill Creek OL Kaleb King are committed to Auburn. Tucker DL Jonathan Ledbetter and Lovejoy DB Montrell Custis are pledged to Alabama. Lovejoy WR Preston Williams and Alpharetta DL Andrew Butcher are headed to Tennessee. Three of them will be playing in the Pac 12 - McEachern OL Chuma Edoga (Southern Cal), McEachern RB Taj Griffin (Oregon) and Milton OL Nick Wilson (Stanford).
None of the 26 players featured are committed to Georgia colleges.
Also worth noting in AAAAAA is the presence of prolific wide receivers. Three of the top four receivers in the state based on yards in 2013 reside in the highest class. They are Williams (1,402), Matty Biondich of Northview (1,225) and T.J. Rahming of McEachern (1,054).
