The Georgia Department of Transportation has kicked off a series of information meetings about its plans for toll lanes along the top half of the Perimeter.
The first of seven meetings took place in Doraville Tuesday, May 14, where some 50 people got a peek at GDOT plans for two toll lanes (or “express lanes”) in each direction along I-285 from Paces Ferry Road in Cobb County to Henderson Road in DeKalb County.
Those plans are in the early stages – details about the properties that would be affected by the highway expansion likely won’t come until early next year. But with some residents worried the expanding highway will encroach on their neighborhoods, GDOT is rolling out some basic information.
