During a recent appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," the comedian talked about her relationship with the filmmaker and revealed how much they share in common.

“Tyler Perry is great,” she gushed. “It’s so great, because we got a lot in common ... He works super fast like me, and he lived in a Gio Metro like me.”

Shortly after graduating from high school, Haddish was booted from the foster care system and left homeless. And before Perry was known for his Madea character, he lost everything after spending all of his money to launch a play.

“Then he pulled himself up by his bootstraps and created an empire,” the “Girls Trip” star explained. “And that’s what I want to do. He’s teaching me.”

In fact, she learned a few things while working with him on the upcoming, Atlanta-filmed movie “Nobody’s Fool,” which Perry produced. He even gifted her with a Tesla shortly after they wrapped production. The flick hits theater Nov. 2.
