Grammy award-winning artist Monica and her husband Shannon Brown have reportedly parted ways, with the songstress filing for divorce earlier this month.

The singer and songwriter, born Monica Denise Brown, filed the paperwork in Atlanta earlier this month, according  to TMZ. Brown was unable to seal the divorce papers, and there are no details on whether she's seeking child or spousal support, per TMZ's report.

The songwriter, 38, and the former Los Angeles Lakers player, 33, wed in 2010. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in November 2010. They exchanged vows a second time in July 2011 in front of family and friends friends, including "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Nene Leakes, rapper LL Cool J and NBA legend Kobe Bryant, according to Essence magazine.

The two have a 5-year-old daughter, Laiyah, together. The “So Gone” singer has two sons from her previous relationship with Atlanta-based rapper Rocko. Brown and her children are featured on the current season of “T.I. & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle,”which films in Atlanta.

The report of the breakup sparked conversation and support from fans of the couple on social media.
