"Coat of Many Colors," the movie about Dolly Parton's early life that filmed in the metro Atlanta area this year, is due out on 9 p.m. Dec. 10 on NBC. Here's a sneak peek!

The project stars Alyvia Alyn Lind, who appeared in the locally shot Adam Sandler-Drew Barrymore comedy "Blended," as young Dolly Parton. Country star Jennifer Nettles plays Dolly's mom and Ricky Schroder plays her dad. It filmed in Covington, east of Atlanta.

The hit song from 1971 tells the story of how Parton’s mother stitched her a coat from rags because the family was too poor for store-bought finery. Although Parton treasured the coat, inspired by the biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors, her song laments that other kids would laugh and make fun of her homemade garment.

“My life and this little story ‘Coat of Many Colors’ is very personal to me,” Parton, who grew up in a family of 12 children, said in a statement on her web site. “I’m from a big ole family and we all loved one another.”
