Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is ready to run the country.

"A lot of people have been telling me lately that I should run for president of the United States," he said during the opening of "Saturday Night Live" on Saturday. "It’s very flattering but tonight I want to put this to rest and just say once and for all .. I am in! Starting tonight I am running for the president of the United States.

"And I've already chosen my running mate. Like me he's very well liked, he's charming, universally adored by pretty much every human alive: Mr. Tom Hanks!"

Hanks is totally on board.

"The truth is, America needs us. No one can seem to agree on anything anymore except two things."

Added the Rock: "Pizza and us!"

Looking forward to 2020, Team Johnson-Hanks is pretty much guaranteed a win, they figure.

"Together we would get 100 percent of the vote," Hanks said. "I would get the senior vote because I fought in WW II in like 10 different movies."

"And I would get the minority vote," the Rock added. "Because everyone assumes I’m .. whatever they are."
