HOUSTON - Falcons and Patriots players, media pundits and fancy sports figures are all here at Minute Maid Park for Super Bowl Opening Night.

Dedicated fans eager for a glimpse of (and perhaps a selfie with?) their sports heroes have filed into the stands while journalists mill around trying for a word with this guy or that. A concert and fireworks are coming next and judging from the vat of earplugs ushers are handing out, it should be quite a blast. Literally.

In the middle of it all is comic actor JB Smoove, a "Saturday Night Live" alum whose movie projects include last year's Atlanta-filmed ensemble comedies "Almost Christmas" and "Barbershop: The Next Cut."

Cutting a striking figure in a natty jacket, pocket square and fedora, Smoove's working the crowd, holding court and having more fun than anyone.
