And the photographer and filmmaker behind the magic, 23-year-old Tyler Mitchell of Atlanta, will become the first black photographer to shoot a cover in Vogue's 126-year history.
According to his bio page, Mitchell "got his start making skate videos and taking pictures of music, fashion and youth culture in Atlanta and NYC."
The NYU Tisch School of the Arts graduate has captured iconic photos of Teen Vogue's March for Our Lives feature, has photographed iconic school shooting survivors for the #NeverAgain project on young gun control advocates and is best known for his self-published Cuban photography collection, "El Paquete."

Mitchell and his 2015 book were featured in the New York Times' "Up Next" series in December.
“I depict black people and people of color in a really real and pure way,” Mitchell told the Times. “There is an honest gaze to my photos.”
Mitchell's Instagram page, which boasts a nearly 70,000 follower count (growing by the hour) showcases many of his creative and raw depictions.
