Pontoon Brewing, which has been producing beer for awhile , now has a facility to call its own, and starting this week it'll be open to the public.
Located at 8601 Dunwoody Place in Sandy Springs, the 11,000-square-foot space provides a place for Pontoon to brew its beers, as well as host tastings, brewery tours, growler and crowler sales and live music. Pontoon had been brewing beers such as its No Pants Pilsner under contract at Thomas Creek Brewery in Greenville, SC, and Coastal Empire in Savannah.
The brewery's first event, a "relaxed opening", will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15 and will offer pours from special casks including Samonut Cookie Nut Brown Ale and Ol' Fashion Freedom Bird, as well as draft pours of some of its classic brews including Galaxy Drifter American IPA and A Lotta Horchata Imperial Stout .
Pontoon will hold its official grand opening event the weekend of Jan. 12.
