A Roswell wine lover is hoping to bring a taste of Napa to North Fulton.
Dana Gurela is planning to open Deep Roots Wine Market & Tasting Room at 1055 Canton St. this May.
Deep Roots will feature wines exclusively from California with a range of price points. Guerla, a certified California wine appellation specialist and sommelier, will be often be on hand to discuss vintages and varieties, and the tasting room will offer self-guided wine tours via Napa Technology wine pouring stations. Customers can sample 1-, 3- or 6-oz. pours of 24 wines with a reloadable pre-paid swipe card, and buy bottles -- including hard-to-find varieties -- to take home.

Hungry? Deep Roots customers can order food from the menu of Plum Cafe, located next door, and have it delivered to the tasting room.
The design will feature a "California coastal" vibe from California interior designer Tara Fust.
"We want to take the stuffiness and pretense out of the wine sampling and purchasing process," Gurela said in a press release.
She said the name for the business comes from two sources: that the best wines are made from "distressed" vines that burrow into the earth for water and nutrients, and her return to her "roots" in Georgia to be near family.
A Gwinnett County native, Gurela spent five years living and studying in California wine country, eventually working as a hospitality and wine educator with Eleven Eleven Winery in Napa Valley before coming back to Georgia.
