Psst! Want to get into the new speakeasy at City Winery, the winery/music venue/restaurant/bar/private events space at Ponce City Market?
Don't worry, you don't have to be a gangster or gun moll to gain entry. It's as easy as following City Winery on Facebook .
Every week, a name will be released on the page. Come to the unmarked door located directly to the left of Binders and tell the door guy you know that person to gain entry to the clandestine back bar.
The space has "a luxe industrial atmosphere...with dim lighting, intriguing cocktails, small batch spirits and lively tunes from a record player," according to a press release.
If you're in the mood to buy a bottle of wine from City Winery's list, you'll get to pick out a record to play on the speakeasy's Pro-Ject turntable. Choices range from classic artists such as Count Basie and Ella Fitzgerald to current artists who have played City Winery, including Here Come The Mummies and Don McLean.
The full bar features liquor, beer, wine and custom cocktails including the Masataka Swizzle (Japanese whiskey, Luxardo Amaretto, lime juice, demerara syrup, aromatic bitters, mint) and the El Conquistador (Mezcal Amaras Espadin, Lustau ‘Los Arcos’ Amontillado Sherry, St. George’s Spiced Pear Liqueur and lemon).
The speakeasy will be open from 6 p.m.-midnight daily.
