Sandwich shop Urban Cookhouse has closed its Sandy Springs location.

The restaurant, which was located in the Gateway development at 4600 Roswell Road, announced the closure on its Facebook page, and confirmed that yesterday was its last day:

After sincere thought and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close this Atlanta location. We appreciate your patronage and thank you for your support and understanding.

The restaurant, which also has locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama, serves a lunch and dinner menu featuring a variety of salads, sandwiches, wraps and “fork and knife” entrees such as shrimp kababs and veggie quesadillas. Meats are prepared on the Big Green Egg. The chain uses produce and products from southeast farmers and makers, and also offers catering.

Snooze: An A.M. Eatery, will take over the space vacated by Urban Cookhouse early next year.

Remaining restaurants in the Gateway development include breakfast spot Tupelo Honey, Taka Sushi, Santorini Taverna, Kale Me Crazy and Chipotle Mexican Grill.

The AJC has reached out to Urban Cookhouse for more details.
