Two weeks after being named a finalist for best new restaurant in America by Bon Apetit, Spring in Marietta now knows where it stands.
The restaurant was named to the magazine's "Hot 10" list, coming in at number seven.
While editor Andrew Knowlton wrote "there's absolutely nothing flashy" about Spring, located at 83 Church St. But he sang the restaurant's praises, writing, "Don't go to Spring for the bells and whistles. Don't go to Spring expecting to find the next culinary trend. Go to Spring to discover a masterfully talented chef who only cares about one thing—cooking you the best meal possible."
The only Georgia restaurant named to the list of finalists, Spring was opened by chef and owner Brian So in April 2016. Since then, So was named one of AJC's chefs to watch ; the restaurant received a three-star review; and its chicken liver pate on toast was named dish of the week . So was also named a semifinalist for the James Beard Awards' Rising Star Chef of the Year.
