Cocktail and Christmas lovers will get an extra gift this year.
Pop-up Christmas-themed cocktail bar Miracle -- which debuted in Atlanta as Miracle on Monroe in the Midtown Promenade the day after Thanksgiving last year -- is returning, this time with a second location.
Miracle on Monroe will once again pop up in the Tapa Tapa space at 931 Monroe Dr. NE, Suite C-106, while the new Miracle 2 will be located in The Shops Buckhead Atlanta at 262 Buckhead Avenue. Both bars will open Friday, Nov. 24 and remain open through Christmas Eve.
The Miracle bars will feature holiday movies played on the walls, old-school holiday music played on a turntable and decorations from lights to ribbons to garlands, in addition to themed cocktails served in festive barware, including mugs shaped like Santa’s head.
The cocktail menu includes drinks such as the Muletide, made with aquavit, sherry, ginger syrup, lime juice, and pumpkin pie soda; the Santa-quila, made with reposado tequila, cacao nibs, sherry, maple syrup and black walnut); and The Jingle Ball Nog, made with brown butter fat-washed cognac, sherry, almond milk, cream, sugar, egg and nutmeg. Naughty and Nice shots will also be available – cinnamon bourbon and gingerbread-spices rye, respectively.
Holiday snacks and cookie decorating will also be available.
Both locations will host themed events nightly, Wednesday through Sunday, including a Tacky Christmas Sweater contest, holiday movies, cookie hours, trivia, Christmas bingo, choral performances, DJs and guest bartenders.
Miracle Two The Shops Buckhead Atlanta is partnering with New American Pathways from Nov. 24-Dec. 1, with a portion of the proceeds going to the organization, which helps refugee families who have relocated to Georgia.
The Miracle concept was started in 2014 in New York by Greg Boehm and has expanded to 30 other cities including Charleston and Montreal. Miracle launched last year in Atlanta under Darren Carr and Eric Simpkins’ Big Citizen, which owns The Lawrence and Bon Ton in Midtown.
Miracle is 21 and up, no entry fee, and reservations are not accepted. The bar will be open weekly Wednesday through Sunday until Christmas Eve, from 5 p.m.-midnight Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Both locations will close at midnight on Christmas Eve. For updates on Miracle visit Facebook or miraclebaratlanta.com.
