These are the stories that created a buzz on the metro Atlanta dining scene this week:

•Andy Gonzales, the owner of Steinbeck's in Oakhurst, is working on opening The Companion at 2316 Marietta Road NW in West Midtown this spring, What Now Atlanta reports. Gonzales tells Eater Atlanta that the menu sandwiches, entrees, burgers and snacks. On the beverage side, look for 16 beers on tap, cocktails, frozen drinks and wines by the glass.

•Atlanta-based Mediterranean concept Bezoria, which has three locations in the metro area announced a franchise group that will begin expanding the restaurant brand to five more locations throughout Atlanta in 2020.

Bezoria corporate also announces additional plans to further grow in the next five years, with upwards of 50 stores nationwide, through additional franchise partners.

Founders Imtiaz Ramzan, Nasser Amer and Yogi Patel launched the Bezoria brand in 2014 with a first location in Midtown, with subsequent openings in Alpharetta on Old Milton Parkway and at the Cumberland Mall.

The first franchise group for Bezoria includes Thiago Pereira and Rivaz “Ray” Dhanji who own and operate 18 locations of Moe’s Southwest Grill in Georgia and Florida.

The first new restaurant in metro Atlanta is set for 2131 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth, with a goal of a summer 2020 opening. The duo also acquired the Alpharetta location from Bezoria corporate.

Each new Bezoria location will include an identical menu across all stores and the brand and styling will remain the same.

•Phoenix-based Health food chain Flower Child has plans to open a third metro Atlanta location at 1170 Howell Mill Road NW, Atlanta Business Chronicle reports. The Westside Provisions District eatery will join those in Buckhead and Sandy Springs.

•Maple Street Biscuit Co. is slated to replace the now-shuttered Holler + Dash Biscuit House at 1085 Howell Mill Road in West Midtown, What Now Atlanta reports. There are existing metro Atlanta locations of Florida-based Maple Street in Duluth, Alpharetta and Woodstock.

•Restaurants that have quietly opened in metro Atlanta in the past month include Cuban restaurant Jimmy'z Kitchen in Marietta, hot pot chain Hi-Pot in Doraville, Meatballerz in Embry Hills and Bowl-shi: Sushi in a Bowl in Sweet Auburn Curb Market, Eater Atlanta reports. 

•Mediterranean restaurant Shami Kitchen is reopening this weekend at 8363 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, Tomorrow's News Today reports.

•Buckhead spot Nova Sushi Bar & Asian Bistro is slated to open a second location at 880 West Peachtree St. NW

on the ground floor of the Alexan on 8th apartment building, Atlanta Business Chronicle reports. 

•Wildleaf culinary director and co-founder Randy Lewis has divested himself from the salad concept to focus on his restaurant consulting business.
