Reservations at critically-praised Old Fourth Ward spot Staplehouse are tough to come by, but grabbing a drink in the same building just got a little bit easier.
The restaurant opened Paper Crane Lounge in an upstairs space that previously served as a private event space earlier this month, Eater Atlanta reports. Open from 5:30-10 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays and 5:30-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, the bar is first come, first serve and features a rotating cocktail list with five or six drinks (including a sparkling Negroni). Different drinks lists will be offered at the restaurant and lounge.
Staplehouse was recently named to Eater's America's 38 Essential Restaurants list as compiled by critic Bill Addison.
Chef Ryan Smith was a finalist in the Best Chef: Southeast category for the James Beard Foundation Awards this year, and Staplehouse was a finalist in 2016 for Best New Restaurant. Bon Apetit magazine also named the eatery the best new restaurant in the country in 2016, and Staplehouse was included in Eater's annual list of the Best New Restaurants in America and named to the top of GQ's Best New Restaurants of 2016 list .
