Editor's note: Area 4 is no longer hosting a grand opening celebration, as was previously reported. The AJC is working to find out more. including the opening date of the restaurant.
A new Southern restaurant is coming to southwest Atlanta.
Area 4 will open next to Greenbriar Mall at 2885 Greenbriar Parkway.
The restaurant comes from Jasmine Smiley, who decided to open a restaurant after noticing a void in the area while visiting her grandmother. She previously worked in catering and hospitality for the Atlanta Braves and Café Circa.
Area 4’s menu will feature Southern cuisine for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, with an emphasis on seafood. Dishes will include chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and the Area 4 Seafood Bucket.
“Southwest Atlanta is a very vibrant, socially engaged neighborhood that deserves quality restaurants that cater to the needs of the community,” Smiley said in a prepared statement. “Area 4 will fill that void by offering great food in a beautiful space that will serve as an area for us.”
The 3,000 square-foot restaurant will feature live entertainment and will be open seven days a week.
