A new spot for pizza and beer is officially opening this weekend.

Porter Pizza & Brewery has been in soft open mode for the past couple of weeks at 6370 Powers Ferry Road in Sandy Springs.

The eatery's menu features a variety of appetizers including cheese curds and pretzels; salads; sandwiches including a burger and a meatball parmesan; entrees including shrimp pasta alfredo and fish and chips; and pizzas including the I Dream of Jeannie, made with truffle oil, sausage, mushrooms and basil and the Taco Pizza made with Angus beef, refried beans, salsa, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream.

The restaurant also has several of its own beers on tap, including Georgia in New England, a New England IPA; Malt Hammer Amber Ale; and Witteveld Witbier.

Porter will celebrate Saturday with several deals including $5 house beer and half off appetizers from 2-6 p.m.
