Vegan junk food lovers have a new spot to get their fix.
The Slutty Vegan -- which owner Pinky Cole started as a food truck last summer -- opened the doors yesterday at its brick-and-mortar location at 1542 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. in the Westview neighborhood.
The grand opening attracted more than 1,200 people and the restaurant closed early after running out of food, according to a Facebook post:
Cole said she chose the business’ theme, which she calls “slutty but conservative,” in a bid to get more people to embrace veganism.
The menu includes dishes such as The Fussy Hussy, an Impossible burger topped with “cheese,” lettuce, onion, pickle and vegan mayo on a Hawaiian bun and the Dance Hall Queen, a patty served with grilled onions, vegan cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and sweet jerk plantain on a Hawaiian bun.
The Slutty Vegan Instagram account has amassed nearly 83,000 followers. She's also served a slew of celebrities including Lil Baby, Jermaine Dupri, Porsha Williams, Snoop Dogg and Da Brat.
The restaurant is open from 4 p.m.-midnight Tuesday-Thursday and 4 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday-Saturday. The truck will continue to operate as normal.
