Old Fourth Ward is getting a new spot for tacos.
Taco Cantina, which has an existing location at 2517 Spring Road SE in Smyrna, is set to open in the bottom of the Tribute Lofts building at 480 John Wesley Dobbs Ave NE in November.
The new location, which will seat about 65 people, will have a menu that features about 60 percent of the items from the Smyrna spot, according to Adolfo Gonzales, who owns both locations with his wife, Brianna. A bigger kitchen will allow him to offer an expanded list of appetizers, including ancho chipotle chicken wings, salads and tacos, as well as beverage offerings including several varieties of margaritas and tequilas.
Taco Cantina will replace Baked Comfort Foods, which closed in January .
A native of Mexico, Gonzales has worked in the Atlanta hospitality for years, with stints at Buckhead Life restaurants including Atlanta Fish Market, Buckhead Diner and Corner Cafe, as well as Coast Bar & Grill in Charleston. He opened Taco Cantina in Smyrna in 2015.
