An Ansley Park bar that had previously announced plans to close by the end of January is getting a reprieve.

Cowtippers Steaks & Spirits, located at 1600 Piedmont Road, will delay closing until Feb. 18.

"Based on the outpouring of support from the community, we have decided to remain open at least another two weeks during which we will assess what will happen regarding Cowtippers," Metrotainment Cafes CEO Jeff Landau said in a prepared statement.

Landau previously said he was "weighing several options including selling the restaurant and property."

The gay-friendly restaurant, known for its welcoming patio, country-themed events and outgoing staff, opened in 1993.
