Longtime Buckhead restaurant Kyma has opened a new bar in its space with the “feel of the Greek Isles.”
Ouzo Bar & Dining Room opened late last week on the right hand side of the restaurant, in the former Octopus Lounge space.
The redesigned ouzerie “takes you to the white sand beaches of Santorini with pickled white hardwood floors, long white drapes, newly fitted white cushioned chairs and three flat-screen televisions looping video scenes of the Aegean Sea,” according to a press release.
The space features a year-round, covered outdoor patio and an outdoor garden that seats up to 20 guests.
Chef Pano Karatassos will offer an updated mezze menu with lighter fare including spread trios, halibut and salads as well as larger dishes such as lamb pie and octopus. Beverage offerings will feature specialty Greek cocktails including a variety of ouzo selections, Greek watermelon mojitos and cucumber martinis.
“Our new lounge takes you on a culinary adventure,” Karatassos said in a prepared statement. “If you can’t visit the Greek Isles in person, let us transport you to the Mediterranean just for the evening with a sensory experience of fresh seafood and the authentic flavors of Greek mezze delicately paired with ouzo.”
Ouzo will offer half-priced wines Sunday and Wednesday and Martini Night every Tuesday. A five-course “design your own tasting menu” will also be available every night at three different price points and includes spreads, mezze, whole fish and entrees.
Ouzo is open from 5-10 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday, with takeout and curbside pickup offered from 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday.
Kyma is part of the Buckhead Life restaurant group, which also owns Atlanta Fish Market, Bistro Niko, Buckhead Diner, Chops Lobster Bar, Corner Café and Pricci. It also operates restaurants in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Boca Raton.
