Alpharetta's first brewery is making big moves this summer.
Jekyll Brewing is expanding to Alpharetta City Center, taking the upper floor of the Exchange Building at the corner of Academy and Market streets in a space that includes a 2,500 square-foot rooftop deck overlooking Market Street Park. The third-story rooftop deck features 360-degree views of downtown and the surrounding area.
The two-level, 6,500 square-foot-space, allows Jekyll to brew on site and feature a tasting room and full-service restaurant.
The building’s design, which is inspired by downtown’s 19th century cotton gins and warehouses, is the perfect setting for Jekyll Brewing says Cheri Morris, president of Morris & Fellows, the developer of Alpharetta City Center.
“We designed this building to be the icon of downtown Alpharetta and we had in mind an iconic operator, so Jekyll Brewing is spot on,” she said in a prepared statement.
Michael Lundmark, founder and CEO of Jekyll Brewing, said the location will “allow us to serve our customers so much better.”
Jekyll, which opened in 2013 on Marconi Drive in Alpharetta, brews IPAs to ales, lagers and Kolsch-style beers. Their better known brews include Hop Dang Diggity, Southern Juice and Vibe.
Jekyll will join lots of other food and drink ventures that have opened at Alpharetta City Center in the past year including Holmes, Citizen Soul, Chiringa, Shade Street Food and Bar and Vitality Bowls. Several concepts are still set to open in the development including Never Enough Thyme, Jinya Ramen Bar, Highland Bakery, Central City Tavern, Botiwalla and Lapeer Seafood Market, which is set to open this month.
