Big things are going down at Atlantic Station, food-wise, these days.

On the heels of the news that salad chain Salata will open the first of its 20 planned Georgia locations at the mixed-use development comes the announcement that Japanese concept Gyu-Kaku will open in the former Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro space.

Gyu-Kaku, a chain of approximately 700 Japanese yakiniku restaurants in 11 countries,  specializes in Japanese barbecue and shared plates. The menu features a variety of appetizers, soups, vegetables and cooked meats including steak, pork, lamb, duck and chicken, as well as Japanese sake, shochu and beer.

Copeland's closed last month.
