Inman Park cocktail bar AMER has closed its doors after about two years in business.
The bar, located at 299 North Highland Ave., has been sold to Crescent Roots Hospitality, Eater Atlanta first reported. The group plans to renovate the space over the next month and reopen it as a cocktail bar with a new name.
Brian Lewis, who opened AMER with the late David Durnell , will focus on his other Atlanta area projects including BOCADO restaurant and bar on the Westside , BOCADO Burger at Avalon, Al Forno's pizza joint in Midtown , and Victtoria Wholesale Bakery, which provides bread and pizza to hotels, restaurants and other businesses around Atlanta, according to a statement from a representative for AMER.
"We really want to be that beginning and ending spot. If you’re going to be dining out, you can stop in and enjoy a cocktail and a light bite, or you can stop in later on and enjoy the final moments of your evening," Lewis told the AJC at the time.
In addition to cocktails, the bar served a small, curated selection of beer, wine, aperitifs and digestifs.
