An Atlanta institution is settled into its new home and open for business.
Henri's Bakery & Café opened its doors at 56 East Andrews Drive in Andrews Square today, a block from its old location 61 Irby Ave. NW. The new space features white subway tile, hex tile flooring and a banquette with individual seating along the back wall, as well as an expanded deli section. An outdoor covered patio and indoor courtyard will offer triple the amount of seating offered at the Irby Avenue location.
"Henri’s has kept its old-time feel and charm but now has the look of a fresh, modern bakery," owner Anthony DiNardo said in a prepared statement. DiNardo purchased Henri's -- started by his great-grandfather Henri Fiscus -- from his mother, aunts and uncle last year, and runs it with his sisters Kim Macbain and Ashlyn DiNardo.

In addition to deli fare including soups and sandwiches, Henri's also serves pastries, cakes, pies and sweets and has added Batdorf & Bronson's Dancing Goats coffee to its menu. Henri’s house-made doughnuts, poured cookies and Parker House rolls are slated to return to the store's offering this fall.
The bakery, which opened in 1929, was previously located at Peachtree and 10th streets, Rhodes Center, Peachtree Palisades and the corner of Peachtree and Piedmont Avenue before settling into its Irby Avenue space in 1969. Henri’s, which specializes in desserts, sweets and sandwiches, also has a sister location in Sandy Springs.
Two new concepts from the team behind The Mercury and The Pinewood will join Henri's at Andrews Square in the coming months. Bar Americano will serve Italian-American fare with a twist, while Bar Cream will be a cafe-gelateria .
Henri's is open Monday-Saturday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
