A high-profile mixed-use development that has the allure of being next to one of the biggest movie studios in the country has announced details about its first restaurant tenant.

Set to open in south metro Atlanta in Pinewood Forest in late 2019 , Braise will serve up a menu of dishes with European, New American, Asian and Southern influences.

Behind the eatery are husband and wife Chefs Tanya Jiminez and Michael Le, who will develop dishes using locally-sourced and seasonal ingredients. Jimenez, who will lead the kitchen, and Le, who will handle day-to-day operations, said they named the restaurant after their favorite cooking method and because "everything that is good takes time," Jimenez said.

Both chefs have a long history in kitchens in Atlanta and beyond. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., Jimenez currently works for Anne Quatrano's Star Provisions restaurant group (which includes Bacchanalia, Floataway Cafe and Star Provisions Market) as she completes her Women in Culinary Leadership Program grant from the James Beard Foundation. She previously worked for Chef Gordon Ramsay in New York.

Le has worked as a consultant for One Hotel in Miami, PLNTHOUSE, a Peachtree City restaurant and a family-owned coffee shop in Senoia.

Most recently, the pair launched the Mushi Ni pop-up in East Atlanta's Global Grub Collective next to We Suki Suki.

Braise's space will seat up to 30 guests and will feature an open kitchen. The restaurant will be open during the week for lunch and dinner, and on other days will host community events including educational and culinary classes.

"Braise is the perfect example of the lineup that we will be announcing over the months ahead – independent chef-driven concepts serving exceptional food quality sourced from area farms - that will define the Pinewood dining experience,” said Bill Lynch, Project Director for Pinewood Forest, in a prepared statement.

The eatery will be located in Pinewood's 25-acre town center, which will also feature a hotel, other restaurants, independent retail shops and galleries, an office suite and a Piedmont Wellness Center.

The development's culinary roster was curated by Atlanta Food & Wine Festival co-founders Dominique Love and Elizabeth Feichter along with a group of notables that formed a food and beverage council.

Pinewood Forest, a master planned residential and mixed-use development is located in Fayette County, next to Pinewood Atlanta Studios. The development team includes Fayetteville native and Chick-fil-A CEO Dan T. Cathy.
