A long-awaited third location of Fifth Group Restaurant Group eatery Ecco is set to open in November at Phipps Plaza.
Ecco -- which also has locations in Midtown and at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport -- will be open for lunch and dinner and will signature Ecco dishes including goat cheese balls. Dinner dishes will include parsnip risotto cacio e pepe; Wagyu curado with artichokes and robiola fresca; and raviolo with farmer egg, delicata squash and smoked ricotta. For lunch, look for dishes such as a frito misto sandwich with oysters, hake, shrimp, smelts and aioli, as well as shared plates, salads, flatbreads and entrees.
The restaurant’s cocktail program will place a focus on gin, along with cocktails and an extensive wine list.
Andrea Montobbio, who has been in the restaurant industry for 20 years including stints at Pricci and STK, will serve as executive chef.
Ecco will be the second of soon to be three Fifth Group restaurants on Peachtree in Buckhead -- the group will open a second location of Alma Cucina next year and has a location of South City Kitchen in Buckhead.
“There are so many impressive developments underway in the area and it’s exciting for Fifth Group to be a part of that evolution,” said Fifth Group founding partner Robby Kukler in a press release.
Other Fifth Group eateries include South City Kitchen Midtown, Vinings and Alpharetta, La Tavola Trattoria, The Original El Taco, Lure and catering and design company Bold Catering & Design.
Ecco is one of several big changes at the reimagned Phipps Plaza -- Grand Lux Cafe recently opened, along with other new eateries including Public Kitchen & Bar and Genuine Pizza. Nobu Hotel and Nobu Atlanta Restaurant are coming to the development, as well.
