During the holiday season, you can be forgiven for paying less attention to things like budgets and calorie counts. You can do some damage in both departments at the swanky new Buckhead iteration of the Iberian Pig, where a dish called huevo con trufa makes an excellent holiday season treat. It's fortifying, decadent, and perfect for sharing with friends and family.

The huevo con trufa follows a reliable rule for luxury dishes: Keep things simple and let the delicacies do the heavy lifting. The dish is about as simple as it gets: a poached egg atop black truffle pate that’s nestled among fork-tender braised pork cheek. Break the egg, and scoop all the elements onto a buttery piece of sourdough toast for a perfect bite that incorporates crunchy bread, tender pork and funky truffle, all married together with rich, runny egg yolk.

For an extra $12, diners can add a plump piece of foie gras to their huevo con trufa, and the dish immediately soars into a different stratosphere. Without the foie, it’s a tasty, satisfying dish. But, with it, the earthy richness creates a dish that halts all conversation, makes eyes close involuntarily and banishes all thoughts other than, “Wow, this is so good.”

Spring for the foie gras, and the last thing on your mind will be calories or credit card bills — a holiday gift absolutely worth giving yourself.
