Calling veggie lovers! Get your copy of one of the best new vegetable-centric cookbooks of 2017 while enjoying free food prepared by James Beard award winner chef Steven Satterfield  at Cover Books East from 6-8 p.m. this evening.

Author Joshua McFadden will be in town for a book signing of his newly released "Six Seasons: A New Way With Vegetables."

The event is co-hosted by Cover Books owner Katie Barringer and Satterfield, the executive chef and co-owner of Miller Union. Dishes will highlight some recipes from McFadden's cookbook.

AJC contributor Wendell Brock wrote of "Six Seasons": "If you make only one dish this summer, let it be Joshua McFadden's 'Herbed' Butter with Warm Bread, from his glorious 'Six Seasons: A New Way With Vegetables.' So simple it's not even a recipe, the party-starter is nothing but a cutting board slathered with butter, sprinkled with salt, pepper and chile flakes and layered with herbs, greens and edible flowers. Put a warm country loaf on the side and you're done."
