The owner of a collection of Atlanta cafes is slated to introduce a new concept this weekend.

Cultivate Food and Coffee is slated to open Saturday in the Howell Mills Shops at 1952 Howell Mill Road. The combination coffee shop and cafe comes from Johnny Liu, the owner of Cafe at Pharr locations in Buckhead, West Midtown, Vinings and Miami Circle.

Cultivate will roast its own coffee in-house to be used in its coffee drinks and to be sold retail in 1-lb. bags. In addition to coffee drinks, Cultivate will offer fraps, smoothies and specialty drinks.

The food menu will include breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch using locally-sourced ingredients and grass-fed and pastured meats. Each week, the menu will feature one or two “Blue Plate” options only available that week. Cultivate also offers a full bar stocked with micro brews, wines and craft liquors.

Thirty percent of the coffee and food menus feature vegan, vegetarian, paleo and gluten-free items.

The spot will also feature a special event space and offer catering services.

Other concepts at the Howell Mill Shops include sandwich shop Zunzi's and a forthcoming second location of Marietta's Doughnut Dollies.

Cultivate will be open from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
