Film and food lovers will have a new Midtown spot to convene in a couple of years.
iPic Entertainment announced it will open its first Georgia location in 2020 at mixed-use development Colony Square at Peachtree and 14th streets. The concept will include a 6,700 square-foot bar and restaurant along with a 426-seat luxury movie theater.
"This market has consistently been heralded as one of the most walkable in the nation, making our ground-floor presence at Colony Square all the more impactful in delivering a quality entertainment, dining and experiential destination for arts and culture under one roof,” said Hamid Hashemi, president and CEO of iPic Entertainment in a prepared statement.
Designed and operated by James Beard Award-winning Chef Sherry Yard, the restaurant will also feature a full-service bar with "farm to glass" drinks from mixologist and master sommelier Adam Seger.
The theater will have nine auditoriums that will show new films as well as live shows including magic, comedy and gaming competitions. Customers will be able to use a button to "summon ninja-like servers" for a dine-in-the-dark experience from Yard and Seger's menus.
iPic will be part of real estate development company North American Properties' major overhaul of Colony Square that also includes retail and office space, residences and a hotel. 28,000 square-feet of space will be converted into a food hall called Main & Main.
The new food hall will bring more than a dozen concepts to Colony Square including an outdoor gathering space called the Grove, complete with a beer garden, a staging area for culinary programming and pop-up events as well as space for a culinary incubator.
