Just weeks after unlocking doors, Bluetop is seeing a change in the kitchen. Executive chef Matt Marcus is no longer working at the restaurant located at 5362 Peachtree Road in Chamblee.

Owner Andy Lasky stated that he terminated Marcus yesterday due to “areas of conflict.”

“I like him a lot as a person,” Lasky said. “Professionally, it just wasn’t working out.”

Marcus stated that he was told his termination was due to “unsatisfactory performance.” “They would not elaborate. I was surprised,” he said.

As for his next steps, Marcus stated that he is “exploring my options.”

According to Lasky, Paul Sidener will assume the executive chef role at Bluetop. Sidener and Marcus worked together previously at Portofino in Buckhead.
