It's been a long time in the making, but Ecco is finally set to debut its third Atlanta location tonight.

Ecco Buckhead at Phipps Plaza will open for dinner service tonight. The restaurant will be open for dinner nightly, and lunch services will launch in the coming weeks.

Ecco, which is part of the Fifth Group Restaurants group, also has locations in Midtown and at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

The menu, designed by executive chef Andrea Montobbio, “draws inspiration from the tucked-away neighborhood restaurants of Spain, Italy and beyond,” according to a press release. While sections of the menu – including taste and share plates, meats and cheeses, pastas, flatbreads and entrees – will mirror that of Ecco Midtown, Montobbio has created several dishes available only in Buckhead.

Dishes will include wood-fired focaccia with seasonal cicchetti; cuttlefish flatbread with squid ink black crust, taggiasca olives, caper berries and field rocket; risotto aquerello cacio e pepe with parsnip crema; and roasted lamb agnolotti with crème fraiche, salsify and lamb succo.

The beverage program, led by beverage manager Erin Mason and Fifth Group’s partner and director of food and beverage standards Vajra Stratigos, focuses on flavor profiles that complement Montobbio’s food. Look for an extensive wine list, craft cocktails and a variety of gin-focused drinks including the Cape Floral Kingdom made with Berkshire Mountain Garden gin, Caperitif, pamplemousse and pink saline and Gin Tonic No. 1 made with Gine Mare, sherry pearls and oceanic herbs.

Designed by The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry, Ecco’s interior features marble tiled flooring, suspended wood-planked ceiling panels and circular chandeliers, flanked by an open kitchen. A 50-seat outdoor patio offers café-style seating and a grey stone hearth.

Fifth Group's other Buckhead ventures include a forthcoming second location of Alma Cucina and a location of South City Kitchen in Buckhead.

Other Fifth Group eateries include South City Kitchen Midtown, Vinings and Alpharetta, La Tavola Trattoria, The Original El Taco, Lure and catering and design company Bold Catering & Design.
Ecco is one of several big additions at the reimagned Phipps Plaza -- Grand Lux Cafe recently opened, along with other new eateries including Public Kitchen & Bar and Genuine PizzaNobu Hotel and Nobu Atlanta Restaurant are coming to the development, as well.

The 240-seat Ecco will be for dinner from 5-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, and from 5-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Lunch service will also launch in the coming weeks.
