Hot dog -- there’s a new spot for hot dogs and sausages with a high-end twist in Decatur.

Dog Towne Franks which started as food truck The Pup Truck eight years ago, opened last week at 307 College Ave., in a space previously occupied by Venezuelan restaurant Arepa Mia, which moved to Avondale Estates.

“We focus on a lot of eastern European food, so we are loaded with different types of hot dogs and sausages,” partner Alan Makarewicz said in an email. “But we are also doing things like Bavarian pretzels, pierogies and poutine.”
