A tapas restaurant from the team behind an established Buckhead restaurant is taking reservations for its Friday, Dec. 6 opening.
Buena Vida Tapas & Sol restaurant will open for its first dinner service in the North and Line development at 385 N. Angier Ave. NE. The project comes from Adam Berlin and Juan Calle, the owners of Big Sky Buckhead and concepts in Athens.
The restaurant will include “authentic Spanish tapas and fare,” according to a press release, along with an extensive wine list from sommelier Berlin.

The menu from chef Landon Thompson features a variety of tapas dishes including fried olives, charcuterie boards, Seville hot chicken and pork belly. Also look for "Para la Mesa" selections that serves two to four guests, available after 5 p.m. including whole fish, roast chicken and chuleton, Georgia grassfed ribeye with rosemary potatoes, truffle and mushroom confit, rioja demi, Valdeon butter and crispy shallot.
In addition, the menu offers six vegetarian and eight vegan options.

Before joining the team at Buena Vida, Thompson worked in the kitchens of local restaurants including Holeman & Finch, The Iberian Pig and Cooks & Soldiers.
The restaurant’s interior boasts a mural designed by well-known Spanish artist collective Boa Mistura, and food will be served on plates from Colombia.
Buena Vida will be open from 5-10:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday; 5-11:30 p.m. Thursday; 5 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Friday; 11 a.m.-midnight Saturday; and 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Sunday.
