Some popular chains are debuting new metro Atlanta locations this week, and offering deals, freebies and ways to give back.
•Build-your-own salad chain Chopt, which entered the Atlanta market earlier this year with its first location in Toco Hill, is set to open its second tomorrow at 3655 Roswell Road. The restaurant will sponsor Chopt Gives Back day on Nov. 14, offering customers who make a monetary donation to The Giving Kitchen from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. or 4:30-6:30 p.m. a free salad. Regular business hours will begin on Nov. 15. A third location is set to open in Atlanta next year.
•New York-based Middle Eastern food chain The Halal Guys is slated to open its second metro Atlanta location Nov. 16. The eatery, which will open at Modera Midtown at 95 8th St. NW, will host a grand opening party from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. featuring live entertainment and giveaways. One dollar for every platter and sandwich purchased on the day of the event will be donated to the American Red Cross in support of their Hurricane Michael relief efforts. The first Halal Guys opened last year on Buford Highway.
•Denver-based Bad Daddy's Burger Bar opened its fourth metro Atlanta location yesterday at 1575 Church St. in Decatur (other locations include Roswell, Smyrna and Chamblee). Bad Daddy's will host a donation night on Dec. 6 with 10 percent of the day's proceeds benefitting Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
