Starting tomorrow, there’ll be a new spot to get your caffeine fix near Piedmont Park.
Cafe Lucia will be in "soft open" mode for a few weeks in the bottom level of the Piedmont House building at 205 12th Street NE, serving breakfast and lunch as well as a variety of coffee drinks.
Look for menu items including Sweet Potatoes Pancakes, Cinnamon French Toast and and Peanut Butter and Jelly French Toast with homemade brown sugar butter, as well as create-your-own dishes. Lunch offerings will include chicken salad sandwiches and turkey BLTs. Ingredients will be sourced locally.
Once it gets its liquor license, Cafe Lucia is slated to offer mimosas and a Bloody Mary bar, as well as beers and liquor from local breweries and distilleries and hard-to-find wines and coffee from a roaster in South Atlanta.
This will be the third Cafe Lucia; there are also locations in Smyrna and downtown Atlanta.
The Midtown location will be open from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday, though the hours are subject to change while the restaurant is in soft open mode.
