In lieu of of this week’s Beer Pick, I’m highlighting two events where you can sample whole bunch of new and different beers on Saturday and Monday.
Secret Stash Bash returns to Taco Mac at the Prado
Taco Mac recently announced new ownership, but promised there would be no immediate changes in the beer program or current events and promotions.
That includes the annual Secret Stash Bash, which gives beer lovers the chance to try rare and unusual offerings from over 20 breweries at the Taco Mac at the Prado in Sandy Springs .
From 1-7 p.m. on Saturday, the Bash offers two tasting sessions, plus a discounted VIP ticket for the entire day.
Among the breweries with beers on tap: Boulevard; Cherry Street; Eventide; Goose Island; Good People; Jailhouse; Jekyll; Monday Night; New Belgium; New Holland; New Realm; Omaha; Ommegang; Orpheus; Prairie; Red Hare; Reformation; Scofflaw; Second Self; Sierra Nevada; Southbound; Southern Brewing; Sweetwater; Terrapin; Wicked Weed.
Tickets: $40 per session; $70 VIP. 5600 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs. 404-941-1503, secretstashbash.com.
Variant Brewing hosts Coalition Food and Beverage
From 5 – 9 p.m on Monday, RO Hospitality and chef Woolery “Woody” Back are hosting a pop-up at Roswell’s Variant Brewing Co. to preview Coalition Food and Beverage, a new restaurant from the Osteria Mattone team set to open in Alpharetta in late spring.
Guests are invited to sample Coalition’s “chef-driven American cuisine” with $25 sample trays, including St. Louis-style spare ribs, German-style pretzels, chicken-bacon sausage, and onion rings
Along with an array of Variant beers on tap, the pop-pop will celebrate the debut of RO Hospitality’s RO HOPSpitality, a new beer made in partnership with Variant that will soon be available at all RO Hospitality concepts.
Food tickets will be available for purchase at the door, Variant beers will be sold a la carte, and RO HOPSpitality will be available for purchase on draft or in 32-oz crowlers to take home.
