Derby Day, Shaky Knees and Cinco de Mayo are among the events on tap this weekend, which looks to be warm all the time and rainy some of the time.
Given my current obsession with crowd-pleasing craft lagers, that’s what I’ll be drinking and sharing at parties and events.
And with that in mind, United Craft Lager, the newest release from Atlanta's New Realm Brewing, is this week's Beer Pick.

Profile
United Craft Lager, the newest beer from brewmaster Mitch Steele and the team at New Realm Brewing, may be a surprise to some. But Steele has said it was “a product of several trials where we tested various hop and malt combinations and bitterness levels.”
The result is an “approachable and super fresh” American lager made with a blend of pale and pilsner malts, flaked corn, and a cool combo of Hallertau, Hersbrucker and Lemondrop hops. At 4.5-percent alcohol and 103 calories, it’s light, bubbly, bright, and not only sessionable, but downright diet-friendly.
Pair with
Light and refreshing, United Craft Lager is easy to pair with almost anything. But certainly, a Cinco de Mayo spread of tacos, tamales, guacamole and salsa would be perfectly simpatico.
