Less than six months after opening , Bar Americano and Bar Crema have closed.

The twin Italian-American concepts, a restaurant and cafe located at 56 East Andrews Drive in the recently renovated Andrews Square in Buckhead, were ventures by Ten Apart, the restaurant group behind The Pinewood, The Mercury and late-night bar Deep End.

The group announced the closures Saturday night via a post on Instagram: "With a heavy heart, Bar Americano and Bar Crema are closed for business. We appreciate all of your support and all of your love. Thank you; we love you."

Saturday was the last day of service for both concepts.

"We're going for a neighborhood feel, with classic Italian-American food,"Bar Americano executive chef Adam Waller told the AJC in an interview in November .   The menu included house-made pastas, pizza and "reinvented" favorites like meatballs and Steak Florentine .

The beverage menu focused on Italian drinks and attempted to tap into Italian aperitivo culture .

Ten Apart partner Brooks Cloud posted on the Bar Americano Instagram account: "Not enough people liked what we were doing - the team did their best but sometimes it just doesn’t go the way you hope. For those that supported us thanks!"

"We'd like to say that we are very proud of everyone who worked so hard and the chefs that did so well," Ten Apart partner Julian Goglia told the AJC.

He and his business partners are currently focused on helping Bar Americano and Bar Crema staff to find employment at establishments that, like Ten Apart, offer full benefits.
