A northwest Atlanta seafood spot has closed its doors after a half century.
Bankhead Seafood, located at 1651 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy. NW., served a variety of fried fish and sides including fries and hush puppies.
Owner Helen Brown Harden told 11Alive that she closed the restaurant because of declining health and lack of manpower, and without warning because she still thought she'd change her mind.
" My biggest ambition is to get this place pretty and fixed up, because this place is my life," Harden told the AJC in 1990.
