Steak ain't cheap -- which is why when you plunk down cash on a hunk of meat, you want to make sure it's really going to be worth it.

According to one ranking, Atlanta steakhouse Bones, at 3130 Piedmont Road NE, is the tops in the country when it comes to expensive but best-rated steakhouses.

"Bones has had years to perfect the art of cooking a steak," the ranking notes. "This old-school Atlanta joint first opened its doors in 1979 and since then has become a local institution.

"Bones is a great mix of quality food and ritzy atmosphere but still with a touch of everyday Joe to it. You aren't out of place here," said one Foursquare reviewer.

The list from Business Insider is based on data taken from Foursquare City Guide, which took into account the restaurants' prices as well as the app's users' likes, saves, tip sentiment, and its "proprietary hotness score."
