Hold onto your biscuits -- we have a winner in our "Best places in Atlanta for a biscuit" poll.

Reynoldstown favorite Home Grown took the crown with 262 votes, edging out Matthews Cafeteria in Tucker , which had 237 votes. North Carolina-based franchise Bojangles came in third with 223 people naming it their top pick. The rest of the list, in order, included Buttermilk Kitchen (92 votes), Flying Biscuit (91 votes), Chick-fil-A (89 votes) and Flora and Flour (31 votes).

Write-in candidates scooped up a combined total of 164 votes, with Martin's Restaurants (25 votes), Hardee's (20 votes) and Popeyes (9 votes) taking the most individual votes.

Great minds think alike, Atlanta -- we picked Home Grown's vegetarian biscuit with mushrooms, spinach and gravy as one of the Atlanta spots that serves the best Southern breakfast with a twist for the AJC Fall Dining Guide: Atlanta Around the Clock .

While we're on the subject of biscuits, Bojangles' picked a winner for its Master Biscuit Maker Challenge, and -- spoiler alert -- it wasn't finalist Luis Santos, who we wrote about in our recent story on biscuit making in Atlanta -- Roger Hudson, Jr. of Boiling Springs, N.C. and Royce Vereen of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
