Greek cafe and coffee shop Kafenio is set to make its Avondale Estates debut next week.

The restaurant will be in soft open mode serving breakfast and lunch from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. starting May 22, and will begin its dinner service and regular hours May 28, according to a post on its Facebook page.

Kafenio, which opened its original location in 2015 in College Park, will be located in the Willis apartment complex.

The 2,100 square-foot restaurant will have a menu similar to the College Park location, with Greek-inspired breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner offerings including three-egg omelets, small plates such as spanakopita and kefte meatballs, sandwiches and pita wraps including a classic gyro with feta spread and tzatziki, as well as a variety of coffee drinks and espresso.

The Avondale Estates location will also serve craft beer and wine.

Owner Johnny Gianoulidis also owns Park Grounds coffee shop in Reynoldstown and is a former co-owner of the now-shuttered Pallookaville Fine Foods in Avondale Estates.
