Delta Air Lines agents can now rebook passengers on SkyTeam partner carriers whose flights are delayed, canceled or diverted.
Delta's SkyTeam international alliance partners include Air France, KLM, Korean Air, Aeromexico and 14 other airlines. The alliance allows travelers to book itineraries connecting between different airlines in SkyTeam, among other benefits.
When passengers on SkyTeam airlines need assistance at an airport, Delta says its agents at more than 70 airports can rebook and reissue tickets without having to contact the partner airline.
The technological capability has been phased in by region, with North America as the last stage of the rollout, according to the company.
Passengers can go to Delta or another SkyTeam airline ticket desk up to 48 hours before a flight to be rerouted on a flight on a SkyTeam airline, according to Delta.
