Hundreds of Atlanta United fans gathered at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Tuesday afternoon to test their soccer skills and compete for prizes.
At the event, players Dion Pereira, Eric Remedi, Hector Villalba and Franco Escobar each led teams of fans competing to kick soccer balls into a goal at the center of the field, and offered up tips on their technique.
“The ones that score, they look so happy,” Pereira said.
More than 5,000 people filled out a form online for a chance to attend the event, and two hundred were randomly selected to attend and bring a guest.
The event is part of Delta Air Lines' sponsorship of Atlanta United as the team's official airline. Delta sponsors the team and is the primary carrier flying the team to its road matches through the 2022 season.
Those on the winning team who scored goals win vouchers for two free round-trip tickets to any nonstop destination from Atlanta.
Those who scored goals on losing teams win a $100 Delta gift card, while those on the winning team who don’t score goals get a $25 Fanatics gift card.
